POLE AND COACHING FEES
Once an athlete commits to either the junior or senior program they will need to pay coaching and pole fees. They should be paid in advance on a tri-annual basis (an invoice will be sent):
May to September (Preparation Period) $300
October to December (Schools Competition Period) $300
January to April (Major Competition Period) $300
Training varies depending on the age and commitment level of the athlete, but for the normally involves at least two pole-vaulting sessions per week (an additional gymnastics session is also very beneficial). Senior (usually over 18 years of age) athletes train five or six days per week, with sessions involving running, weightlifting, gymnastics and pole vaulting. Junior athletes usually train two or three days per week. Mark Stewart supervises the sessions and the athletes follow our program.
There are some additional costs associated with pole-vaulting:
Athletes should be either a member of the Box Hill Athletics Club, or Box Hill Little Athletics. Membership information at: http://www.boxhillathleticclub.org/ or http://boxhilllac.com.au/
We also do Gymnastics at BTYC on Friday evenings and this costs $15 per session.
